The
Bio
I beleive I make my life by what I give to my art.
My art comes from deep within me and flows energetically through
time and space.
I am self taught, so rules don't play into my
process. I start painting with a mess of colors and varnishes and
work toward organizing it all to completion.
I live with my art almost 24/7 because feelings of joy and excitment
are there. The colors are warm and friendly and through them I sense
a celebration of life beginning to emerge ... my style is a kind
of freedom of speech sounding out from the work and from deep within
me. The images pulse energy and I like it that there are no rules
or boundries to stiffle my feelings. I feel alive through my work
and so I love to paint ... love to listen to my heart tell me what
to do next.
A critic once wrote of my art ... " Rochelle's
works often nuance the subject with the perspective of a surveilance
camera focused through stop frame motion and close-ups. She explores
both the abstract and the real as tools to describe elements of
hyper-real hallucination " .
Measuring chains, constructing realities, putting form into place
a matrix of illusion and dis-illusion
a strange attracting force
urging a seduced reality to spontaneously feed upon itself
